Monthly AIRE Perspectives – March 2022

Dear Friends and Valued Clients,

Please see below for The MAP – Monthly AIRE Perspectives for March 2022.

A Note on Digital Assets

Our experience as advisors has led us to instinctively feel afraid of investments that are being talked about the most in the press, as most of the time, those tend to be the most overbought assets. In cases like this, our attitude is that we are willing to forego potential returns in order not to participate in high-priced investments that have had a huge run already. If you think about it, the investments that are the most talked about at any point in time (these days, cryptocurrencies, the FAANG stocks, and Tesla, for example, among others) normally tend not only to be the ones that have already had the highest rise in prices, but also are generally more volatile and risky. Accordingly, we normally tend to stay away from such investments in favor of more well-rounded portfolios.

Having said that, we do feel that cryptocurrencies are an asset class that we should at least discuss. Due to the reasons mentioned above, we have stayed away from this asset class, and are still hesitant to recommend it due to the risks involved and to the difficulty in assigning a particular fair value to cryptos. However, we do feel that it is important to have an understanding of digital assets in general. We will continue to monitor, learn and consider the asset class, but have not yet felt compelled to recommend anything here due to the rather extreme volatility involved. With this in mind, we would like to share an excellent research article from Fidelity on Bitcoin. If you would like to learn more about this cryptocurrency and cryptos in general, this is an excellent read and we recommend it:

AIRE Advisors Technology

Please make sure to take advantage of the numerous forms of technology we have made available for your convenience. Our technology allows you to view your accounts on Fidelity, view performance and allocation reports, send us secure messages or attachments, view your financial plan, enter outside accounts for inclusion in your financial plan, and much more. From the Client Login tab on the far right of our website (click here), you can access all of the following:

  • There is a link that will direct you to fidelity.com, where you will be able to view your Fidelity accounts directly.

  • You can also access a link to our AIRE Secure Message Center, which allows you to send us documents directly and securely. You simply use your own email address and create a password you will be able to use in the future to send us any messages or documents securely.

  • Finally, there is a third link to your AIRE Advisors Client Portal. Here, you will be able to access more comprehensive quarterly statements, which include your asset allocation, performance numbers and more. You will also be able to access the latest copy of your financial plan and enter outside accounts for automatic updates and inclusion in your financial plans. For both of these items, first log into your AIRE Advisors Client Portal, then follow these instructions:

    • To access the latest copy of your financial plan, on the left side of the screen, click on the bottom icon, which looks like a folder and is titled “Document Vault.” You will be able to click on your financial plan on the new page.

    • To enter outside accounts (other bank accounts, brokerage accounts and more) from the AIRE Advisors Client Portal, on the left side of the screen, click on three triangles in the middle (“Financial Planning.”) On the upper right hand side of the new page, click on “Access Plan Details.” Finally, on the upper left of the new page, click on “FastLink.” This will take you to a screen that will allow you to enter outside accounts, so that these assets automatically update to future financial plans.

  • If you have not yet logged into the AIRE Advisors Client Portal, please call us directly and we will get you logged on very quickly and easily.

New! We are pleased to let you know that our AIRE Advisors mobile app, which will allow you access to the AIRE Advisors Client Portal, has now launched in the Apple and Google app stores! Please go to the appropriate app store, type in “AIRE Advisors”, download the app, and send us your feedback!

Once again, we would like to thank you for your trust and loyalty, and look forward to speaking with you in the upcoming month.
